Except for the first option, the rest are multiplayer game modes. When we want to test one of our fighters, we can choose between several possibilities: campaign, quick combat, tournament or gym against gym. Defensive? Offensive? Or a mix of both? You choose! Train your fighters, level up and develop their fighting skills and abilities. The stronger they are, the more fights they will win and the more money we will get. And for that we will need them to win fights. And we will also have to hire the best trainers (provided they are within our budget). We will have to expand the facilities and equipment of our gym to train our fighters. This time we must set up our own gym, gather a team of mixed martial arts fighters and manage their training. Strategy games don't always have to be the same, as this MMA Manager shows us. In this Prey Studios title we will become the manager of a gym, but we will also have to recruit fighters and train them to win tournaments.īecome the manager of your own gym and fight your way to the top! If you want to see what how it actually plays, I stuck up a walkthrough of the tutorial on YouTube. The actual "action" plays out like the kind of play by play descriptions of fights you'd see on sports websites or the to the point descriptions from a good commentator. Fights play out procedurally with the fighter's skill levels, martial arts disciplines and gameplans all affecting how they play out. It's entirely 2D, with our character art style leaning towards a comicbook style and our UI trying to make use of Google's Material design style guide for colour use.

It's a menu-driven management game where you're running a gym, building up the facilities, recruiting fighters and coaching/cornering them in fights. Think of it as a mix of Motorsport Manager, New Star Soccer and a little bit of UFC thrown in. We've been working on it for most of the year and I really hope at least some of you enjoy it.
